Child Safety Standards

Seen is an app for sending kind, anonymous messages to people around the world. We are deeply committed to the safety of children and maintaining a platform that is free from child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) material. This page outlines our standards and practices.

Zero tolerance for CSAE

Seen has a strict zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Any content of this nature is strictly prohibited and will be immediately removed. Accounts involved in creating, sharing, or distributing such content will be permanently banned.

Prevention measures

• All user-generated content is subject to our community guidelines, which prohibit any content that sexualises or exploits minors.
• Seen is not directed at or intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly permit minors under 13 to create accounts.
• Every piece of text a member writes — public posts, shared reflections and private replies — is screened by automated safety review before it is published or delivered. If the review cannot be completed, the content is blocked rather than allowed through. Content written without a name attached is held to a stricter standard, and is only available to established accounts.
• Members can report and block on every surface where content appears. Reports are reviewed and actioned, and content found in breach is removed for everyone.
• Accounts found to be violating our child safety policies are permanently removed.

Reporting

Users can report child safety concerns directly within the Seen app, or by contacting us at the email address below. All reports are reviewed promptly.

Cooperation with authorities

Seen complies with all applicable child safety laws and regulations. We report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via CyberTipline, and cooperate fully with law enforcement and relevant national authorities investigating child exploitation.
